Morrissey had earlier announced the details of a new album and it’s release date. Low in High School is the eleventh solo studio album by English singer Morrissey, released on 17 November 2017 through BMG.

The new album was reportedly recorded in both France and Italy, and produced by Joe Chiccarelli. It was also reported that before the album’s release, several retailers including HMV refused to stock the album due to its cover art, though this was later denied by HMV.

The first single off the album, “Spent the Day in Bed”, was first played on 19 September 2017 and was subsequently dropped on the same day, on that same day, Morrissey announced an upcoming US tour.

There are not many artists around today that can compare to Morrissey,” says Korda Marshall, EVP of BMG. “He is an extraordinary talent. He is prodigious, literate, witty, elegant and above all, courageous. His lyrics, humour and melodies have influenced many generations. The music on this new landmark record will speak for itself and we are delighted to welcome him to BMG.”

The singer, Morrissey is also expected to play Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on 10th November. Low In High School is the follow-up to 2014’s ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’.
